Green Multi Function Printers

Ricoh - MP C2503 - Full

Apart from the contest, Ricoh Malaysia has also introduced its latest eco-friendly printers that have been designed to promote sustainable business practices. The energy-saving MP C2003SP & C2503SP colour Multifunction Printers (MFP), as well as the SG 3120B SFNw Geljet MFP come with built-in ‘Stapleless’ stapler function that Ricoh claims will be able to save over 1,000,000 tonnes of steel; thus saving money and resources annually (which is definitely not good news for stapler and staples suppliers). As seen in this demo video, the printers do this by binding up to 5 pages using a stamping-like process.

The printers also come with a 19-second warm-up time, as well as optional extras such as the built-in smart card reader units, and features like the ID Card copy and searchable PDF. The colour MFPs have customisable home screen, and enables users to monitor the paper usage and Typical Electricity Consumption of the units. The MFPs also have cloud service integration feature to automatically store/send scanned documents to the cloud, and Scan-to-smart capability that allows the data to be sent to smart devices.

The Geljet MFP is another unique device from Ricoh as it’s the company’s first that can switch from AC to battery power when needed, and it can do this without disrupting the a print job. Consumers can get an optional spare battery and it’s charger for prolonged outdoor usage. It even comes with a built-in USB port to charge smart devices while on the go. The fast-drying, smudge-free Liquid Gel ink allows up to 1,000 water-resistant pages to be printed using the printer’s cartridge; making it suitable for healthcare, F&B and education industries.

The colour MFPs have a starting price of RM 17,000, while the SG 3120B SFNw Geljet MFP series have a price tag of RM 1,999 and below. See Ricoh (Malaysia)’s product page for more info.
